Take your critter on holiday

Take your critter to the beach or up a tree or to the snow, wherever whenever, it doesn't matter. What we want to see are the photo's by the end of January. Best photo wins a Grill Slinger Barbecue Tool System. So far Mr March goes to the movies is in the lead.

Congratulations to Rachel from Hospice New Zealand and Andrew from TNZI, the winners of the chipods for being the first people to assemble and send in a photo of their critters. We got heaps of great photos, here are a few to look at.

Interesting things you can do with stats.

Not only is this map interesting, it is a great piece of information design. Click on each country for individual country stats and a close up view. If you have statistics which you would like to make more interesting and digestable, talk to us there are heaps of things we can do. Both static and interactive.

We're mad for them

We've been making critters, lots of them, in one shape and size but with many different personalities. They're useful little calendars too. So far we have a semi submerged swimmer, a hypno lizard and a hooting owl. If you'd like one sitting on your desk each month or would like us to make something similar for your organisation - get in touch.

Kapiti Sports Arena Super Raffle

Undertaken as a community sponsorship, this calender was made to raise money for a new sports arena in Kapiti, to be used by the community. We wish the project all the best and hope our contribution helps get them some of the way.

Creating strong identities with narratives.

By creating an identity you are telling a story about yourself. Who are you and how do you want to portray yourself? Who do you want to attract? In some ways it is a performance or a dance. Emotive rather than logical, parallels can be drawn with other narrative forms, like music, film or theatre. A well-told story will always appeal, but it is the emotive content of a story, which grabs the reader's heart.

Cut paper cleverness

Check out Mister Rob, maker of magic from cut paper. His beautiful paper cut out designs have been used for identities, book covers, cards and fashion shoots- he even made a whole dress out of cut paper.

We love illustration.

Quirky dark robot fun. Just random and ecclectic enough for us to love. This guys bizarre robotty characters, colourfully painted on found materials are assembled into organic installations which grow over walls and around corners, brrrilliant.

Stylish contemporary web design mixing organic and handmade

This Flash based site is a great example of integrating organic and handdrawn elements into a slick contemporary site. We especially like the “say hey” section on the contact us page, oh and the clouds of course.
